Invoiceize is a free, browser-based invoice generator built for freelancers, contractors, consultants, and small businesses that need to send a handful of invoices each month without adopting full accounting software. The editor pairs a form on the left with a live invoice preview on the right, so every change appears immediately on the finished document. You can click any text on the invoice itself to edit it in place, keeping both sides in sync.
What it offers
Invoiceize handles the practical details that make an invoice usable. Line totals, subtotal, tax, discounts, shipping, and balance due are calculated as you type, with rounding that respects each currency's decimal conventions. You can add tax or a discount as a percentage or a fixed amount, record a deposit under amount paid, and watch the balance due update automatically. The generator supports any ISO currency code, from US Dollar and Euro to Japanese Yen and Indian Rupee.
Customization and branding
The tool includes three invoice layouts — Classic, Modern, and Minimal — along with custom color selection and heading font choices. You can upload a logo and save your business details, payment information, and brand color in a Brand Kit so every new invoice starts with them. Every label on the document is editable: rename "Invoice" to "Tax Invoice," change "Bill to" to "Client," add custom fields such as a PO number or tax ID, and hide sections you do not need.
Workflow and storage
Drafts save automatically in your browser, and recent invoices can be reopened, duplicated, or deleted from a My invoices view. No account or signup is required to create, edit, or download an invoice. The PDF download is watermark-free and available on US Letter or A4, and long invoices break across pages between rows rather than through them. You can also print directly from the page.
Beyond invoices
Invoiceize includes generators for quotes and receipts using the same editor. A quote prices work before it begins, an invoice requests payment after delivery, and a receipt confirms that payment has been received. Line items can be pasted from Excel or Google Sheets, with each row becoming its own line and quantity and rate split into their columns.
Who it is for
The product suits freelancers billing for projects or milestones, hourly workers tracking time and rate, consultants charging retainers or fixed fees, and contractors billing labor and materials after a deposit. It is a practical fit for anyone who wants a clean, branded PDF invoice without a subscription or accounting suite.
