What layahost is
layahost is a decision API that answers one question at a time: which option does this message belong to, and with what probability. It handles moderation, spam filtering, support triage, ticket routing, priority scoring, sentiment, and language detection through a single endpoint. The API is compatible with Jev's /v1/systemone and /v1/models endpoints, so existing Jev SDKs work by pointing the base URL at layahost and using a layahost key.
Core capabilities
The API returns only the options you define, each with a probability you can branch on. There is no free-text parsing and no malformed output to clean up. Typical decisions include:
- Content moderation for insults, harassment, and threats
- Spam and scam filtering for phishing and get-rich-quick offers
- Support triage to identify what a customer wants before an agent opens the ticket
- Ticket routing to the right department using your own list of teams
- Priority and escalation scoring for outages and urgent issues
- Language detection across 35 languages
Each call to /v1/decide counts as one decision, and a /v1/systemone request with multiple questions counts as multiple decisions. Rejected and failed requests are free.
Who it is for
layahost fits product and operations teams that already route, moderate, or triage text at scale. Support platforms can classify incoming tickets before they reach a human. Community and marketplace products can hold back abusive or spammy content before it is published. Internal tools can page the right team for outages while letting lower-priority messages wait. Because the API is Jev-compatible, teams already using Jev can migrate by changing an environment variable and an API key.
Custom models
For labels specific to a business, such as product categories, internal teams, or policy rules, layahost fine-tunes a private Laya checkpoint on labelled examples and serves it on the same API under the customer's own model name. The process starts with a CSV of texts and expected answers, followed by training and calibration with an accuracy report on held-out examples. On the Laya project's typed-decisions benchmark, fine-tuning lifted accuracy from 36% to 77%.
Pricing and privacy
Pricing is flat at $5 per million decisions, regardless of text length, with prepaid credit starting at $10. Rejected and failed requests are free, credit never expires, and invoices can include a VAT ID. Text is processed in memory on servers in Helsinki, Finland, and is never used for training. Logs keep verdicts and metadata for seven days; request text is stored only if the account turns it on.
